Foreign licence conversion and IR exam

Hello,

I’m writing from the UK and I don’t understand how your IR written exam works. I got my IR by flying a departure, a hold, an ILS and an RNP with some practive emergencies whilst examined. I never had a written exam for any of this.

From what I understand I will need to pass your ops exam. My question is why are there so many subjects in the IR catagory on the Aeroversity bank? Do I need to study all of them.

Many thanks,
H

Hi Henry.
I recently wrote IR and I would highly recommend going through all the questions on the aeroversity IR (new) question bank
The thing is when I wrote it I got a little bit from each subject so unfortunately you can’t just study one
It took me about a week to go through everything but bare in mind, I wrote the South Africa CPL exams so it was like a revision for me, whereas the questions might be unfamiliar for you.
Despite the aeroversity website saying to only rely on the exam questions section, I would suggest that you go through all the topics once and then you can revise with the exams only questions as not all exam questions will come from that section alone.
I know it seems like a lot, but once you get through it you’ll find a lot of similarities between the aeroversity questions and the actual CAA questions guaranteeing a pass.

Don’t let the number of questions get you down, take your time going through each subject and you’ll be fine
Good luck
