Hello everyone.
Two of my friends just wrote IR recently and they said the questions they got were all from the Cpl exams. Nothing new. (Similar to what is available on the aeroversity IR (new) section)
One of them said he did get some questions that he hadn’t seen before but still relating to the CPL subjects which he could easily answer
Has anyone heard anything different?
I am writing IR next week, any information anyone can provide will greatly be appreciated.
Hello
Yes it was mostly CPL questions with a bit of AWOPS
I would recommend going through each section provided on the aeroversity database
Then using the exam questions only as revision before the exam
I wrote the exam last week on the 11th of December 2024. I intially studied using Aeroversity and all the mock exam practice I did(close to 40 attempts), I would score above 90%. But when I wrote the exam, I got 74%. I would say, 60 - 70% questions were ones I saw from aeroversity Exam only questions and the other questions were strange things I have never seen. The only problem I later found out on that 60 -70% of exam only questions is that, even answers I knew were 100% correct from studying aeroversity were wrong. Which means the answers in Aeroversity in some questions are not what CAA wants. One of the question I knew very well but got it wrong in the exam is this one attached. I do not know what answer CAA is looking for.

Kindly note that this is the correct answer in the exam. Please do not choose any other option as it will come back as incorrect. The coaching report descriptions can be misleading and it may seem like you got it wrong when in fact, you got it right. Please share your coaching report with us and mark the questions that you believe were in AV and had the incorrect answer. We will review it and let you know if they are the same questions you are thinking about.
Number 88 Int.No 221 - Deciding and Decision making(attached photo)
Number 75 Int.No 58 - Colour codes on an ASI. (This was asking what the green colour on an ASI represents. The answer I wrote was VS1 to VNO. But shows here that I got it wrong)
Number 62 Int.No 700 - Anti-Icing, De-icing. (The question was asking when the holdover time starts, and the answer I wrote was, at the begining of the anti-icing step.
Note that I may not phrase the questions and the answers exactly according to how they where in the exams but this is the closest I could remember.
The answers in Aeroversity for these questions you have mentioned are the same in the exam. If you chose the answer we have and it came back incorrect, it might be worth querying it with the SACAA. The other possibility is that the system is giving you the wrong feedback descriptions. If anyone else is having this experience for the same INT numbers, please share it on this thread so that we can make sure we solve this problem for everyone.
